In the past 5 years, drone technology has exponentially increased. And video producers are looking more and more to using it for more dynamic aerial footage. We were recently called out to get some aerial views of a property that overlooks the Hudson river in upstate New York.
The only issue being that the temperatures in the area were showing 21f and my drone is rated to safely fly at 32f and up!
Aside from the temps, it was a beautiful day, so we cracked out the hand warmers and launched. Here are the results.
The hand warmers were not just for gloves, but they kept the batteries warm as well as the phone used as a video monitor. After 15 minutes of flight, my phone was completely depleted of battery. 30 minutes of charging later, and we were able to complete the second half of the flight and job done!
